Amy da Luz, Playwright
Current projects include COMING BACK FOR ME and DEMBE, which was awarded a Regional Artist Project Grant from the Arts Council of Winston Salem and Forsyth County for a workshop prodcuction. Her play BOXES AND BAGGAGE (pictured above) won the 2018 North Carolina New Play Project Award and was produced in Greensboro as part of the Fringe Festival, where Amy was the recipient of the prestigious Mark Gilbert Award. Her play SKELETONS, was a semi-finalist in the 2017 Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference, the Women's Work Festival in NYC, and the Southwest Bridge Initiative The play was selected and produced as part of the inaugural Broadway Bound Theatre Festival in NYC. Amy is a member of the Dramatists Guild, and the Playwrights Center.
Amy founded and served as Artistic Director for the small professional Paper Lantern Theatre Company for eight years. She is currently an adjunct Theatre Professor at North Carolina A&T, where she teaches acting and playwriting. As a professional actor Amy is a proud member of AEA and SAG. She received her MFA in acting from UNC at Greensboro in North Carolina.
